Chrome Extension
Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
The Salasel extension is optional and works on YouTube to hide only the distractions you choose. This policy describes exactly what it does with your data.
No account, no tracking
The extension does not require an account, does not track your browsing, includes no analytics, and never sells your data.
Preferences kept in your browser
Your distraction toggles and notes are stored in your browser. They are not uploaded to a server we control as part of normal use.
Sync you control
Your extension preferences may use your browser account's built-in sync so they follow you between devices. That sync is controlled by your browser provider and your browser account. We cannot access that data.
What the extension can access
The extension runs on YouTube so it can hide the elements you turn off and show a way back to your Salasel series. It reads and changes the page only to do that, and only for the distractions you have switched on.
Feedback you choose to send
Any feedback is transmitted only when you explicitly submit it. Nothing is sent otherwise.
Open source
The extension's source is open, so its behaviour can be verified directly in the code.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
